IMPORTANT UPDATE: READ CAREFULLY

Dear School Families;
Our St. Thomas the Apostle School Administration, in conjunction with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, continues to actively monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and update our response based on the guidance we receive from the Archdiocese and state and local Public Health agencies. This situation is very fluid and evolving each day and we want to assure you that the priority of our staff is the health and safety of our students.
Per the mandate of Mr. Paul Escala, Superintendent of Catholic Schools, the following actions will be taken by our school:
Monday, March 16th – Student-Free Day: Teachers will be preparing for Online and Remote Learning. NO SCHOOL and NO DAYCARE. The school will provide all instructions, guidelines, and procedures by Tuesday, March 17th. We appreciate your patience.
Tuesday, March 17th – ONLY families who have been instructed to pick-up certain materials should come to campus. The school will be contacting these families directly. NO SCHOOL and NO DAYCARE
Wednesday, March 18th through Tuesday, March 31st – NO SCHOOL: Our campus will be closed. Online and Remote Learning will be taking place.
Due to public health guidance to limit non-essential events and to employ social distancing, all school masses, events, and athletic competitions are cancelled through the month of March.
The school is working diligently to set-up our distant learning platforms and materials. We will provide you with additional information and updates as events unfold. Please understand the severity of the situation and that we are receiving information on an hour-by-hour / day-to-day basis. Please be vigilant of all correspondence from the school.

Queridos Padres de Familia,
La administración de la Escuela Santo Tomás el Apóstol continúa monitoreando activamente la situación acerca del Coronavirus (COVID-19) para adecuadamente responder a las prácticas recomendadas por parte de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles y nuestras agencias de salud pública. Es una situación muy fluida, y que está evolucionando día con día, tengan por seguro que nuestra prioridad es la salud y bienestar de nuestros estudiantes.
Bajo el mandato del Sr. Paul Escala, Superintendente de Escuelas Católicas, la escuela tomará los siguientes pasos:
Lunes, 16 de marzo – Escuela Sin Estudiantes: La facultad tomará el día para preparar materiales y clases virtuales para que los estudiantes sigan sus cursos desde casa. NO HABRÁ ESCUELA. NO HABRÁ DAYCARE. El martes, 17 de marzo la escuela se comunicará con instrucciones y procedimientos de cómo acudir los cursos virtuales. Les agradecemos su paciencia.
Martes, 17 de marzo – SOLO y ÚNICAMENTE las familias que sean contactadas por la escuela deberán venir al campus por los materiales que ocupen los estudiantes. La escuela se comunicará con estas familias directamente. NO HABRÁ ESCUELA. NO HABRÁ DAYCARE.
Miércoles, 18 de marzo al martes, 31 de marzo – NO HABRÁ ESCUELA: La escuela estará cerrada. Instrucción de cursos virtuales se llevará a cabo.
De igual forma, eventos escolares, misas y eventos deportivos serán cancelados por el mes de marzo bajo la recomendación de las agencias de salud pública.
La escuela está trabajando arduamente para establecer y armar todos los materiales y plataformas virtuales para que los estudiantes sigan sus cursos desde casa. Les estaremos informando de todo acontecimiento a manera que se estén dando a cabo. Por favor comprendan la gravedad de esta situación y que estamos recibiendo información hora por hora y día por día. Por favor estén al tanto de toda comunicación por parte de la escuela.
Les agradecemos su paciencia y flexibilidad durante este tiempo tan desafiante. Les pedimos que mantengan a nuestra comunidad escolar y el resto de nuestra sociedad global en sus oraciones.
